It’s great to have a pawfessional pawtographer on call, but, the truth is, you don’t need a pawfessional pawtographer, or a pawfessional camera to take a great photo! You just need to follow these 3 simple steps!
(1) Lights! There’s a reason we say, “Lights, Camera, Action!” Lights come first, because they are the most important! A good light will make a photo, and a bad light will break a photo, no matter how beautiful your dog, or their outfit is! So, make sure you have good light. And, unless you have amazing light in your home, or a pawfessional studio set up, we highly recommend taking photos outside, in natural light!
(2) Angles are so important! Bend a little, and don’t be afraid to get a lil down and dirty to get a good shot, and that is especially true when it comes to our shorter furriends! Make sure that your camera is leveled to their height. In other words, take the photo from the ground up, instead of taking it looking down.
(3) Take your photos in portrait mode! It automatically blurs out the background, and makes the photos look pawfessional and ready to post!
Bonus Tip: Don’t over edit your photos! And, remember that natural is always better!
